The Tale of the Throwing Spear by Rhue del'Asandro

A young mage once found himself in a spear throwing contest to prove his worth to a young woman he was courting. For many days beforehand he trained his skills, but he simply did not improve.

Distraught, he turned to his other skills to seek improvement. He developed a magical spear that would seek out its target, and never miss. The Wizard was successful, but wanted to outdo himself.

He created a spear that would replicate itself as it soared to its target. Impressed with his own handiwork, he entered the tournament and hit the target, multiple times. He was quickly disqualified as soon as it was recognised as both magic and cheating, and the young wizard lost the affection of his beloved.

Fortunately though, he saw a market for such a weapon, and immediately began selling the spears to beginning adventurers. Being a rather crafty wizard, he made certain the spears did not survive their use. He is currently one of the richest wizards in Amn, and is rumoured to have three wives.
