Sandrhir Leonas, Archmage of Abjuration, Master Stavecrafter, Senior Magus of the Red Wizards of Thay.
Sandrhir Leonas left Thay as an advanced apprentice - his alternative imprisonment for the murder of an inferior. Fortunately, he found Arelith to be an isle not only with an Enclave of Thay, but one with a Khazark whose mind was not inclined towards conventional Thayvian discipline. Ayin Mesmer. Fatespinner, Archmage. Mentor. Sandrhir advanced under his dictation at an insanely impressive rate, quickly outstripping those who dwarfed him on his arrival on Arelith, to the point of ascendence to the position of Archmage of the Arcane Tower - and Mesmer's equal - within only 6 Years.
His noted achievements include the development of the 'Leonas Greater Warding' and 'Advanced Empowered Shield' Abjurative Spells, the creation of the 'Greater Staff of Disjunction', and having a critical role in rescuing Bendir Dale, by virtue of his Greater Warding Spell, from no less than Six Abyssal Lords, almost losing his life in the process.
He is a successful merchant and a powerful figure, but renowned for being neither compassionate nor likable. His unique position as a close ally of Khazark and Councillor Mesmer, but a selfish and uncaring wizard have made him numerous enemies amongst both the forces of 'good' and of 'evil'. Most notably, he holds a long-standing grudge with the Tiefling Cordan Everu, by whose hand he achieved the two scars that adorn his face. This has borne in him a loathing unabated of Abyssal-Blooded Tieflings, as well as servants of the Doombringer Hoar - as it was the notorious justicar Nautilus who, in Sandrhir's eyes, caused the Tiefling to act as he did.
With Cordan, Nautilus, and their mutual friend and ally Voresh, for whom Sandrhir also has no love, having left Arelith - perhaps forever - Sandrhir considers those grudges dormant, though far from settled. His future is one of promise, of solidarity, and of power. One grudge, finally settled, is that with the Ul'faeruk of Udos Droxun, Belduil Le'fein, by whom Sandrhir lost his left foot - which he replaced with a golemechanically designed prosthetic. Slaying the drow in the streets of Shadow Cordor before a crowd of surfacers, the Archmage of Abjuration finally exacted vengeance amongst one of his most hated foes.
